Expo 2015 opened its doors to the public on May 1st. More than 20 million visitors are expected to come to Milan over the next six months to participate in the biggest event ever held focusing on food and nutrition all over the world. San.Co fire resistant doors guarantee safety and fire resistance up to REI 120’, with impeccable details and finishes thanks to their cutting-edge design. This is why Belgium, like so many other countries, has chosen to separate the spaces in its pavilion with San.Co’s fire-resistant and regular wooden doors. The pavilion’s overall structure is a small-scale model of an excellent urban planning solution; the structure itself is environmentally sustainable and represents an attractive model of a responsible, exciting, interactive city.
Clusters are exhibition spaces bringing together 70 countries in a total of 43 buildings in theme areas based on a single architectural design, in which each country has its own exhibition space. In these facilities the theme of food is developed with facilities such as markets, exhibitions, events and tastings. San.Co supplied wooden doors with a special HPL finish and fire resistant steel doors for the Cereals and Tubers, Bio-Mediterranean, Islands and Arid Zones Clusters. Each Cluster reflects the particular features of each zone and showcases its own native resources. In these projects San.Co demonstrates its leadership in research into new fire door solutions for protecting people’s safety.
