Our partnerships with architects are an important part of San.Co’s core business, and we hope to see them continue to grow in the future.
Developing fire barrier and smoke barrier solutions that go beyond doors has earned San.Co greater and greater credibility among architects, as we have worked on projects with the most important architectural studios in Italy and Europe. Projects illustrating this collaborative approach include the renovation of the Fondaco dei Tedeschi building in Venice, where San.Co produced not only custom-made brass wall coverings and brass-coated EI doors, but special aesthetic dividers made of brass positioned on the rooftop viewpoint of this beautiful palace overlooking the Grand Canal.

San.Co is always in the front lines in its relationship with the world of architecture because of its flexibility in responding to architects’ ideas and demands, while at the same time maintaining the ability to supply large quantities of products of outstandingly high quality.
Examples include the Bocconi University Campus in Milan, the new M9 Museum or museum of the 20th century in Mestre, Zaha Hadid’s famous Maxxi museum in Rome, a partnership with Norman Foster in the United Arab Emirates’ Expo pavilion and collaboration with the studio of well-known architect Renzo Piano for the supply of fire doors in the Banca Intesa tower in Turin.
In all these projects San.Co supplied fire doors featuring cutting-edge technology in compliance with the strictest standards. Plus, the projects often required fire barrier and soundproofing solutions to be implemented on the basis of the requirements of the architect and the individual project in question.
One such example illustrating the flexibility of San.Co technologies is the Hadid Tower in Milan, a project for which the company supplied wooden doors with certified soundproofing level of Rw 43 dB and Rw 45 dB and EI 60′ fire doors soundproofed up to Rw 43 dB.

Lastly, in Italy’s tallest tower, designed by Arata Isozaki and Andrea Maffei, San.Co installed fire barrier and soundproofing doors integrated into the back-painted glass walls of the foyer to guarantee safety and comfort for the 2800 Allianz employees working in the building.
San.Co’s partnerships with architects are very important to the company, allowing it to work on a great variety of different projects, from the Technogym headquarters designed by Antonio Citterio to Rem Koolhaas’s project in Fondaco dei Tedeschi in Venice.
