This is a time of transition when it comes to legislation regarding the CE mark. The CSI laboratory and Nuova Finestra magazine will be holding three meetings at MADE expo to discuss flame-resistant doors and windows under EN 16034, while UCCT will be organising a conference at Klimainfisso focusing on the new regulations governing the performance of fire doors. The German manufacturers’ association TTZ has also expressed its opinion on the topic, publishing an interesting note on classification of protection from fire and smoke under EN 16034, referring to the quality of German products which have already been tested in accordance with European standards. But at the end of the coexistence period, estimated at 5 years, CE marking will become compulsory for all products circulating in the European Union and will force the German system to abandon the limited Zulassung and adapt to the new regulations. All San.Co products already conform to EC regulations and they will bear the CE mark as soon as it becomes possible.
